INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE PIZZAS IN YOUR MICROWAVE OVEN:
.by Leer Kook Met Jou Mikrogolf on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 1:29pm.
Things You'll Need
■Pizza dough shell Toppings, sauce, cheese Pizza pan Hot pads
1. Special Microwave Pizza Pan
■1 Make pizza dough and roll it out to the size of your pizza pan. You can also use a store-bought pizza shell the size of your pan.
■2 Place the dough shell on the pizza pan and microwave the shell for 2 minutes on high. This will begin the browning of the shell.
■3 Remove the shell from the microwave and begin assembling the topping on the shell. Start with the pizza sauce and work up with the ingredients, putting the cheese on top.
■4 Return the pizza to the microwave and cook on high 3 to 5 minutes or until the cheese has completely melted and the entire pizza is hot.
If You Don't Have a Specialty Pan
■1 Place a regular pizza pan on the stove top and heat the pan on high until very hot.
■2 Carefully lay the pizza shell on the pan and let cook for 2 minutes. This will brown the bottom of the pizza shell.
■3 Remove from the heat, using hot pads, and assemble the pizza ingredients.
■4 Use a hot pad to hold the pizza pan and slide the pizza from the pan onto a microwave-safe plate or platter.
■5 Microwave the pizza on high for 3 to 5 minutes until the cheese has melted and the pizza is hot.
■· The exact cooking time of the pizza in the microwave will depend on the wattage of the microwave itself. Some newer microwaves have a setting for pizza, which will predetermine the cooking time. Microwave pizza pans can be purchased wherever pots and pans are sold (see Resources). Often they include a booklet with several recipes and cooking times for pizza.

HOW TO MAKE PIZZA IN A CONVECTION OVEN:
You can make pizza in your convection oven.
Most ovens, called conventional radiant ovens, cook food by surrounding them with hot air. In comparison, a convection oven blows hot air directly onto food, which helps the food cook more quickly. One of the more common problems found with pizza cooked in a convection oven is that it doesn't have the crisp crust that a conventional oven would make. However, with just a perforated pizza pan or pizza screen, your convection oven can give you as crisp a crust as a conventional oven. These pans will better allow the convection oven's hot air to cook the pizza from below. This recipe makes two 12-inch round pizzas.
■2 large bowls
■Whisk and wooden spoon
■3 cups all-purpose flour
■1 tsp. table salt
■1 tbsp. sugar
■1 1/2 tsp. active dry yeast
■3 tbsp. olive oil
■1 cup lukewarm water
■Perforated pizza pan or pizza screen
1 Whisk together the flour, salt, sugar and yeast in a large bowl.
■2 Add the olive oil and lukewarm water. Stir first with a wooden spoon, then knead by hand until the dough is firm, smooth and elastic. It should not be sticky.
■3 Coat the inside of the bowl with a thin layer of olive oil.
■4 Put the dough in the bowl, turning the dough to coat it evenly with oil so it won't stick to the bowl's sides while rising.
■5 Cover the bowl with oiled plastic wrap so the dough won't stick to it if it rises into it.
■6 Let the dough rise until it is doubled in size, about 3 hours. You can also put the dough in the fridge for up to 5 days for a slow rise, which would develop a more flavorful dough.
■7 Divide the dough into two pieces and form each into a ball. Let them rise on a floured surface until doubled in size, 1 to 2 hours.
■8 Preheat your convection oven to 500 degrees F. You can preheat a pizza stone in your oven, too, if you have one. Just make sure you give it ample time to preheat because high heat is important for a crisp crust. If you use a pizza stone, you can bake your pizza directly on it instead of in a pizza pan.
■9 Roll and then press each ball of dough into 1/4-inch-thick rounds on a floured surface, and transfer them to your perforated pizza pans.
■10 Top the dough with your desired toppings, which can be as simple as just a drizzle of olive oil and some sliced tomatoes.
■11 Put the pizzas in the oven. If using a pizza stone, use a pizza peel. If you don't have a pizza peel, lightly dust the back of a cookie sheet with flour or cornmeal, place your pizza on it, and slide your pizza onto the pizza stone.
■12 Bake the pizzas until their crust is golden brown. If you used mozzarella cheese, it should be melted, lightly browned in spots and bubbly.
■13 Remove the pizzas carefully, allow them to rest for a few minutes so the cheese, if any, can set, and then serve.
Tips & Warnings:
■· This is a thin-crust pizza recipe; for thicker, chewier crust, use half bread flour and half all-purpose flour. Chill the dough if you have problems rolling it out.

HOW TO MICROWAVE PIZZA WITHOUT THE CRUST GOING SOGGY:
.by Leer Kook Met Jou Mikrogolf on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 1:33pm.
1. Fold four pieces of paper towel into a stack.
2. Place the paper towel stack onto a microwave-safe plate.
3. Place the pizza onto the paper towel and place the plate into the microwave.
4. Set the timer for 45 seconds, keeping an eye on the pizza.
5. Remove the plate from the microwave when the time is up.
6. Discard the paper towel and check the pizza.
7. If you are unsatisfied with it, repeat steps 2 – 6.
Tips:
Make sure your microwave is set on high.
A microwave with a revolving tray works the best to cook the pizza thoroughly and evenly.
Not all pizza cooks the same so keep a close eye on the pizza.
Time may vary depending on the power of your microwave.
Don’t use the same paper towel if you choose to reheat the same pizza again, because it will still be moist.
Let the pizza sit for 30 seconds and reheat quickly for a more firm crust.
Take a 12 inch or smaller teflon fry pan and heat a teaspoon of vegetable or olive oil in it, then after microwaving the pizza or piece of pizza for 30 seconds, finish off in the fry pan to your likeness, always a crispy crust.
Warnings:
Don't use tin foil in the microwave, or any sort of metal.
Be careful; the food may be hot.
Don’t get frustrated if your pizza comes out soft, the microwave is just a quick solution.

HOW LONG IS A PIZZA COOKED IN A CONVENCTION OVEN?

Katherine Brennan
Frozen or homemade pizza is always a great option for an easy yet delicious dinner. Pizza can be cooked in several ways, including on the grill, in a conventional oven, or in a standard or convection microwave. Choosing a convection microwave allows the pizza to be cooked quickly and effectively. Depending on the individual pizza, cooking times vary.
Benefits
A convection microwave combines the speed of microwave cooking with the air-circulation feature of a convection oven. That means a convection microwave not only can heat up and cook foods like a regular microwave, but also can bake, crisp or brown them.
Choose the convection setting for cooking pizza or any other foods when browning and crisping are important features.
The constant motion of air inside the microwave bakes the food evenly, thoroughly and quickly.
Enjoy the benefit of a pizza cooked at microwave speed that's as crispy, bubbly and delicious as one baked in a conventional oven.
Times
If you are starting with a frozen pizza, place the pizza on the rack of the convection microwave, and microwave it for about four to five minutes or until the cheese begins to bubble.
Leave the pizza in the microwave, turn the oven to the highest convection level and preheat.
Bake the pizza for five to seven minutes, monitoring frequently.
The crust should be browned and crispy.
This cooking option takes about 10 to 12 minutes total.
Another option is to preheat the convection microwave to the highest level on the convection mode first.
Add the frozen pizza to the hot oven.
Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until the pizza crust is golden brown and crispy.
Monitor the baking, as ovens and pizzas will vary.
To cook fresh pizza dough, shape the dough into a pie shape and microwave it for four minutes.
Check to make sure the dough is firm, but not hard.
Then add your sauce and toppings and bake as directed for the frozen pizza.
The fresh pizza may take a few minutes less, so expect a cooking time of 10 minutes or 20 minutes total, depending on which option you choose.
Don't forget to keep an eye on your pizza while it's cooking.
