BUTTER BEAN SALAD:

1 x 420 g butter beans (tin) – do not drain
1 x 420 g pineapple cuts (tin) – do not drain
50 ml vinegar
60 ml raisins
50 ml raw sugar
20 ml corn flour mix with a little bit of water
Put all ingredients in the dish.
Microwave for 3 minutes high.
Stir and microwave again for another 3 – 4 minutes until cooking.
Cool and serve cold or serve hot, just as tasty.
It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
PIESANGSLAAI: [RENTIA VAN DER MERWE]
3 eiers,
125ml witasyn,
10ml mosterdpoeier,
knypie sout,
250ml Idealmelk,
250ml witsuiker.
Meng alles behalwe die Idealmelk. sit in die mikrogolf vir 7 minute, klits na elke minuut met elektriese klitser. laat afkoel.
Voeg Idealmelk by en roer goed.
Giet oor piesangs. (soveel as jy wil gebruik)
Laat dit oornag in yskas staan sodat die sous lekker verdik.
NB:
Om te verhoed dat piesangs bruin word; sit piesangs in n bak en giet n ketel kookwater oor dit uit. Die piesang se skil sal swart word. Nou kan jy maar skil en gebruik.
MIRACLE WHIP POTATO SALAD:
Preparation time: 20 minutes plus chilling.
Cooking time: 12 minutes.
4 cups. peeled, cubed potatoes
1/3 cup. water
1 cup. Miracle Whip salad dressing
1/2 cup. each chopped onion, celery, sweet pickle, red or green pepper
1 tsp. prepared mustard
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. salt
Combine potatoes and water in 2Lt glass casserole. Cover. Microwave on High 8 to 12 minutes or until tender, stirring after 6 minutes. Drain. Stir in remaining ingredients; mix lightly. Chill.
Serves 6.
SOET-SUUR GEMENGDE GROENTESLAAI:
1kg pak "Country Mix" gemengde groente gekook in bietjie soutwater tot net bros.
1. Dreineer baie goed.
2. Gooi in plastiekbak met styfpassende deksel.
3. Laat goed afkoel.
Sous:
1 koppie witasyn
1 koppie bruinsuiker
½ teelepel sout
10 ml mostertpoeier
swartpeper na smaak.
1. Meng alles tesame en mikrogolf tot suiker gesmelt het. Laat heeltemal afkoel.
2. Gooi oor groente en marineer vir ongeveer 4 uur. Draai bak kort-kort om sodat al die groente gemarineer word.
3. Voor opdiening, dreineer goed.
4. Kerf ½ ui en ½ komkommer en meng by slaai.
5. Dien op in glasbak met slaaiblare uitgelê.

250 g broccoli
250 g cauliflower
pinch salt
250 g lean bacon, diced
100 g mushrooms
5 ml butter
100 ml mayonnaise
Microwave bacon, mushrooms and butter covered in Small Gourmet Roaster for 5
minutes. Microwave broccoli & cauliflower with a pinch of salt in Medium Gourmet Roaster for 10 minutes. Allow to cool. Mix bacon, broccoli & cauliflower and mayonnaise in a Square Salad Bowl Season to taste. Serve chilled.
