* Skil en sny aartappels in agtstes en kap die ui fyn.
Plaas in 'n diep bak en voeg water en sout by.
Bedek en mikrogolf 20 min. by 100 persent en roer af en toe.
Roer mieliemeel by aartappelmengsel.
Bedek en mikrogolf vir 20 min. by 50 persent krag en roer dit ná die eerste 10 min.
Werk die botter met 'n aartappelfynmaker by die aartappelmengsel in en druk die mengsel terselfdertyd fyn.
Voeg die hoenderaftreksel by en meng.
Bedek en mikrogolf aartappelpap 4 - 5 min. by 100 persent tot deurwarm.

Plaas aartappels en water in 'n groot oondskottel, bedek en mikrogolf 16 min. by 100 persent.
Dreineer.
Meng aartappels en broodkrummels.
Mikrogolf 30 ml botter vir 30 sek HOOG.
Voeg soetrissies en ui by.
Mikrogolf 3 min. en roer een keer HOOG.

WARM AARTAPPELSLAAI MET SPEK:. [7]

750 g gaar aartappels (dobbelsteentjies gesny)
6 repe spekvleis, fyngesny (of stukkies)
50 ml ui, gekap
50 ml groensoetrissie, gekap (ek los dit uit)
25 ml koekmeel
5 ml ligte bruinsuiker
250 ml water
75 ml appelasyn.
1. Braai spekvleis bros, en hou warm.
2. Voeg uie en groenrissie by die spekvleisvet in die pan en soteer die mengsel vir 5 min.
3. Roer die meel en suiker by, gevolg deur die water en asyn.
4. Laat die mengsel toe om te kook en te verdik, terwyl dit aanhoudend geroer word.
5. Meng dit liggies met die warm aartappels en spekvleis en sit dit dadelik voor.
Mikrogolf SPEK:
1. Baai spek vir 1 min 30 sek. op HOOG en verwyder uit die bak. Voeg botter by die ui en groensoetrissie. Mikrogolf vir 2 min. op HOOG.
2. Volg stap 3 van gewone gaarmaak.
3. Mikrogolf vir 40 sekondes op HOOG. Roer en mikrogolf vir 40 sekondes op HOOG totdat die mengsel verdik.
4. Volg stap 5 van gewone gaarmaak.

VOLLE KRAG
1. Was die aartappels, en steek met 'n mes een of twee keer al die pad deur.
2. Pak in die mikrogolf op 'n papierhanddoek.
3. Probeer ongeveer 4 te kook op 'n slag.
4. 4 klein aartappels = 7 minute, 4 groot aartappels = 10-11 minute (mikrogolf oond tye verskil)
5. As net een aartappel gekook word in die mikrogolf, wanneer 'n 1200 watt mikrogolf gebruik word, stel die timer op 3:00 vir' n baie klein aartappel, stel dit aan 4:30 vir 'n medium-grootte aartappel, en stel dit tot 6: 00 vir 'n groot aartappel. Groot aartappels sal 7 / 8 minute neem om gaar te word.
Laat die aartappel staan vir vyf minute. Dit sal toelaat dat die binnekant van die aartappel kook met warm stoom wat vasgevang is binne.

Microwave Cooking Time: 16-18 minutes
Serves: 4 people
Six slices bacon
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 onion, chopped
8 oz Processed cheese, diced
One (8 oz.) carton commercial sour cream
One tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Six baking potatoes, peeled and cubed (about four lbs.)
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
8 oz Cheddar cheese, shredded
Two tsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 carton milk
Place bacon on a rack in a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish; cover with paper towels.
Microwave on high for five to seven minutes or until bacon is crisp.
Drain bacon, reserving one-tablespoon drippings; set bacon aside.
Combine potatoes, water, and salt in large microwave-safe mixing bowl.
Cover with heavy-duty plastic wrap.
Microwave on high for 16 to 18 minutes or until tender; stirring every four minutes.
Remove from microwave and drain.
Sprinkle with seasoned salt and keep warm.
Place reserved bacon drippings in a one-quart glass measuring cup; microwave on high for one minute or until hot.
Stir in onion; cook on high for one to two minutes or until onion is transparent.
Stir in cheese and flour; cook on high for three to four minutes or until cheese melts, stirring after two minutes.
Add sour cream, milk, and Worcestershire sauce; stir with a whisk until smooth.
Pour over potatoes tossing gently to coat; cover and microwave on high for one minute or until thoroughly heated. Transfer to serving dish if desired.

1 – 1.2 kg corned beef, cubed
8 medium potatoes / 4 large potatoes
beef stock powder
1 packet French onion soup powder
Wash potatoes, do not peel and cut it into halves or quarters.
Empty soup into a plastic bag, add potatoes and shake plastic bag to cote the potatoes with soup powder.
Put the Potatoes into a medium bowl.
Sprinkle the corned beef on both sides with beef stock powder and arrange onto potatoes.
Cover and microwave for 25 minutes on Medium High (70% Power).
Serve with mixed veggies.

Sout en peper na smaak
Braaivleisspeserye of rysgeursel
125 ml gerasperde cheddarkaas
Prik aartappels en maak in oond gaar op volle krag vir 10 – 12 minute.
Sny aartappels in lengte deur en skep gaar aartappel uit elke helfte.
Meng dit met melk, margarien, sout, peper en helfte van kaas.
Skep mengsel terug in skil en sprinkel met braaivleisspeserye en orige kaas.
Plaas terug in oond en deurwarm op 50 % krag vir 8 – 10 minute.
Jy kan ‘n blikkie gekerfte sampioene en bloukaas met gekapste sprietuie ook
probeer.
Jy kan ook gebraaide gekrummelde streepspek in mengsel vou.
Gebruik jou verbeelding met enige tipe vulsel.

TUNA, LIME AND CORIANDER JACKET POTATO: [12]

Jazz up your jacket potato with this tuna, lime and coriander recipe. Not only does it include tips on getting a really crispy and delicious skin but the tangy tuna and lime combination is irresistable.
Serves: 4
■Prep time: 5 mins
■Cooking time: 25 mins
(with microwave)
If cooking an ovenful of potatoes, increase the temperature to 220°C/425°F/gas 7. Use metal skewers or baking prongs pushed through the potatoes to reduce the cooking time by up to a quarter. The oil + salt make the skin extra crispy.
■4 medium size potatoes (175g-225g/6-8oz each)
■2 x tins tuna in springwater
■1 lime
■1 handful fresh coriander, leaves picked, stalks chopped
■1 red pepper
1.Scrub the potatoes, then dry and prick each one several times with a sharp knife.
Microwave Method:
Cook one potato (225g/8oz) for 6 mins on full power (800W), turn half way through cooking.
Allow to stand for 1 - 2 mins before serving.
If cooking more than one potato at a time you need to increase the cooking time accordingly.
Oven Method:
1.Rub a few drops of olive oil into the potato skin, place the potatoes in a pre-heated oven at 200°C/400°F/gas 6 on a baking tray with salt sprinkled around the potato. Bake for 1¼ hours or until soft.
2.When potato is ready, open the tins of tuna, in a bowl mix with lime juice and fresh coriander. Serve the mix on top of the jacket. Season with freshly ground black pepper.

Sloppy Joe topping dresses up an ordinary baked potato – great anytime.
4 large baking potatoes, rinsed and scrubbed
1 pound lean ground turkey or beef
1/2 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 can (15.5 oz.) sloppy joe sauce
1 cup (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
Additional toppings such as sour cream, sliced green onions, and chopped tomatoes. (optional)
1.Prick each potato several times using fork.
2.Place on turntable in spoke-like fashion.
3.Select Baked Potato from menu panel.
4.When oven signals, turn over potatoes.
5.Press Start.
6.Remove from oven; set aside.
7.Crumble turkey into 2-quart microwave-safe casserole.
8.Add bell pepper, salt and pepper.
9.Cover casserole.
10.Microwave on HIGH, 5-7 minutes stirring once halfway through cooking, until turkey is no longer pink.
11.Drain.
12.Stir in sloppy joe sauce.
13.Microwave on HIGH, 3 minutes or until mixture is heated through.
14.Cut an “X” in top of each potato, and gently squeeze together ends to open.

Make your own crisps using your microwave! A tasty and easy alternative to bought crisps (not to mention alot cheaper). A mandoline or food processor makes slicing the potato into paper thin slices alot easier.
Ready in 20 mins
Serves: 4
■1 tablespoon vegetable oil
■1 washed potato, sliced paper thin (peeling is optional)
■1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
Pour the vegetable oil into a plastic sandwich or freezer bag.
Add the potato slices, and toss to coat.
Coat a large dinner plate lightly with oil.
Arrange potato slices in a single layer on the dish.
Cook in the microwave for 3 to 5 minutes, or until lightly browned (if not browned, they will not become crisp).
Times will vary depending on the power of your microwave.
Remove chips from plate, and toss with salt (or other seasonings).
Let cool.
Repeat process with the remaining potato slices.
You will not need to keep oiling the plate.

Stir in flour and mustard and stir briskly.
Add salt and pepper.
Place potatoes in 1 1/2 quart microproof casserole.
Add ham and onion.
Pour sauce over potatoes.
Cover with waxed paper.

Stir twice during cooking.

1/4 tsp. dried oregano

2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese
Place potatoes in shallow 1 1/2 quart microwave safe baking or serving dish.
Sprinkle with oil and remaining ingredients except cheese.
Stir to coat potatoes.
Cover with waxed paper and microwave on high 8-10 minutes, stirring twice.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and microwave on high 1-2 minutes longer.
Let stand covered 5 minutes.
Potatoes will be tender and cheese melted.

In glass casserole, combine all ingredients except potatoes.
Cover, cook on roast (7) for 10-12 minutes or until thickened; stir twice during cooing.

Neem 'n groot genoeg bak vir hoeveelheid aartappelblokkies.
Sit botter in bak en smelt vir paar sekondes.
Roer die soppoeier daarin.
Voeg die aartappelblokkies by en geur met peper.
Roer goed totdat alles gemeng is.
Plaas deksel op en mikrogolf op hoog vir ongeveer 15 - 20 minute/ of tot aartappels gaar is.
Roer weer goed en laat staan vir 5 minute.

Skil die aartappels en ui en sny dit ‘n klein blokkies.
Plaas dit in diep bak met water, bedek en mikrogolf op hoog vir 10 minute tot sag.
Roer na die eerste 4 minute.
Maak die aartappel en ui-mengsel goed fyn.
Klits die melk, eier, sout en peper saam.
Roer dit by die aartappelmengsel.
Voeg die bakpoeier by en klop tot gemeng.
Mikrogolf die bottervir 30 sekondes oop op hoog tot gesmelt.
Voeg dit by die graanvlokkiekrummels en kaas en meng goed.
Maak 12 aartappelpoffers.
Gebruik sowat ‘n eetlepel vir elke poffer en maak sowat 6 poffers op ‘n keer gaar.
Skep die poffers eers in die krummelmengsel, rol dit versigtig daarin tot bedek.
Plaas dit in ‘n sirkel op die rand van ‘n mikrogolfvaste bord.

Bake potatoes in microwave about 6 minutes on high. Bake bacon in microwave 2 1/2 to 3 minutes on high until both bacon and potatoes are 2/3 done.
Slice potatoes in strips; arrange in a microwave-safe casserole dish, 6 x 9 inches. Sprinkle garlic salt; top with cheese and bacon. Heat on high 2-3 minutes. Serves 4.
MEATLOAF-STUFFED MICROWAVE POTATO: [26]
Turn baked potatoes into a meal with your favourite meatloaf stuffing.
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 9 minutes
4 medium potatoes
1 pound raw meatloaf or bulk sausage
Cut a thin slice off the bottom of each potato so they will not roll while cooking. Cut potatoes in half lengthwise.
With a spoon, scoop out the center of each bottom half, leaving about 1/2 inch of flesh.
Fill each potato bottom with one-quarter of the meatloaf or sausage mixture. Place tops back on potatoes, pressing firmly.
Wipe away any excess meat mixture that may squeeze through seam.
Place potatoes on microwave-safe plate.
Microwave on high for 9 minutes (cooking time may vary depending on your microwave) or until potatoes are done and filling has reached 160°F.
Use oven mitts or tongs to remove from microwave.

Potato stacks are a sophisticated and fun appetizer or side dish.

4 medium russet potatoes
2 medium portobello mushrooms
2 medium zucchini
3 Roma tomatoes
1 quarter onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/2 cup Italian dressing
Cut a shallow slice from each potato to form a flat bottom for each stack. Cut each potato lengthwise into 3 slices.
Scrape brown gills from the underside of the mushrooms with a knife and discard.
Slice mushrooms, zucchini, tomatoes and onion into 1/4-inch-thick slices.
Assemble potato stacks in this order in microwave-safe dish: bottom potato slice, 2 zucchini slices (do not overlap), 3 to 4 onion slices, 3 to 4 mushroom slices, salt and pepper, 1tablespoon cheese, 1 teaspoon Italian dressing, middle potato slice, 2 tomato slices, 2 zucchini slices, salt and pepper, 1 tablespoon cheese, 1 teaspoon Italian dressing, top potato slice.
Secure each stack with 2 toothpicks.
Drizzle with remaining Italian dressing.
Cover tightly with plastic wrap.
Microwave on high for 16 minutes (cooking time may vary depending on your microwave) or until potatoes are done.
Use oven mitts or tongs to remove from microwave.
Remove plastic wrap carefully to prevent burns from steam.

Give one of your family’s favourite meals–lasagna–a nutritional twist by using potatoes instead of pasta sheets.
Prep time: 10 minutes

2 medium potatoes or 3 to 4 small red potatoes
Cooking spray
1 can (15 ounces) pizza sauce
1 pound 85% lean ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheesem
Cut potatoes into 1/4-inch-thick slices.
Spray a 1-quart microwave-safe dish with cooking spray.
Spread 2 tablespoons pizza sauce in bottom of dish.
Arrange half the potatoes in a single layer on top of sauce.
Crumble half the beef evenly over potatoes.
Season with half the salt and pepper.
Sprinkle with half the mozzarella cheese and half the remaining pizza sauce.
Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, salt, pepper, mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

POTATO TACO CHICKEN DISH: [29]
Taco seasoning and tomatoes give potatoes and chicken.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 12 minutes
2 medium potatoes or 2 to 3 small red potatoes
1 chicken breast (6 to 8 ounces) or 5 to 6 chicken tenders
1 can (14 1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes
1 packet (1 1/4 ounces) taco seasoning
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Cut potato in half lengthwise.
Slice across into 1/4-inch-thick half moons.
On separate cutting board, cut chicken into 1/2-inch strips.
If using tenders, it is not necessary to cut them.
In a microwave-safe dish, combine chicken, tomatoes and taco seasoning, mixing well.
Arrange potatoes on top of chicken in a single layer.
Sprinkle cheese on top.
Cover tightly with lid or plastic wrap.
Microwave on high for 12 minutes (cooking time may vary depending on your microwave) or until potatoes and chicken are done.

1 medium yellow summer squash
1 can (14 1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes
1/2 cup diced yellow onion
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Cut potatoes, zucchini and squash into 1/2-inch cubes.
Place in microwave-safe dish.
Add tomatoes, onion, Italian seasoning and garlic and mix well.
Sprinkle with cheese.

microwave) or until potatoes are done.

MICROWAVE POTATO CASSEROLE: [31] [potato goodness]
1 1/4 lbs. potatoes, very thinly sliced;
1 cup quartered and thinly sliced onion;
1 cup shredded reduced-fat sharp Cheddar cheese;
1/2 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning ;
1/2 cup stock or reduced-sodium broth;
1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard;
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
Spray an 8-inch microwave-safe baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place 1/3 of the potatoes and 1/2 of the onions on the bottom of the dish and sprinkle with 1/3 the cheese and 1/2 the herbs. Repeat layers, then top with the last 1/3 of the potatoes, layering potatoes so that there is a solid layer of potatoes with no gaps; sprinkle with remaining cheese. Stir together stock, Dijon and garlic salt and pour over the potatoes. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave on HIGH for 20 minutes. Use oven mitts to remove dish from microwave; carefully remove cover from dish due to steam build-up and serve. Makes 6 servings.
MUSTARD GLAZED NEW POTATOES: [32]
1 pound baby potatoes, washed and unpeeled
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons olive oil, divided use
1 tablespoon vermouth or white wine (optional)
2 tablespoons reduced sodium chicken broth + broth for thinning marinade
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/4 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Directions:
1) Place a single layer of potatoes in bottom of a large (12-inch) microwavable container that has a lid. Add 3 tablespoons of water to pan; cover and microwave on HIGH for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Drain.
2) While potatoes cook, place mustard, 2 tablespoons oil, vermouth, chicken broth, garlic rosemary and pepper in a large bowl. Whisk to combine. Set aside.
3) Add potatoes to sauce; toss with a wooden spoon to coat all surfaces.
4) Heat reserved 1 tablespoon oil in a large (12-inch) skillet. When oil begins to shimmer, add contents of bowl containing potatoes to pan and cook over medium-high heat until potatoes are glazed and brown. Add more chicken broth if pan becomes too dry. Garnish with chopped parsley.

ROAST POTATOES/SWEET POTATOES: [33]
Ingredients:
• 850g potatoes, cut into 5cm pieces
• 850g orange sweet potato, cut into 5cm pieces [kry by Woolworthsfood]
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 bulb garlic, unpeeled, cloves separated
Place potatoes and sweet potato in a large saucepan. Cover with cold water. Cover and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium. Cook, partially covered, for 5 to 10 minutes or until just tender. Drain.
Preheat oven to 220°C. Line a large roasting pan with baking paper. Spread potatoes and sweet potato over pan. Drizzle with oil. Toss to coat. Roast, turning occasionally, for 25 minutes. Add garlic. Cook, turning occasionally, for 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender, golden and crisp. Season with salt and pepper. Serve.

300 g franse polonie - grofgekap
6 groot aartappels

75 g gerasperde cheddarkaas

Was die aartappels en druk ’n hele paar gaatjies in elkeen met ’n vurk.
Rangskik die aartappels in ’n sirkel op absorberende kombuispapier en bedek met ’n laag van dieselfde papier.
Kook op volle hitte in die mikrogolfoond vir 15 minute en draai halfpad om.
As aartappels gaar is, halveer en skep al die aartappel uit todat net die skil van elkeen oorbly.
Behou die skil bakkies.
Braai die gekapte ui en polonie vir 2 - 3 minute in margarien.
Voeg die aartappel by en verhit, voeg daarna die melk, sout en peper by en meng.
Skep die mengsel in die skil bakkies.

1. In a 5- to 6-quart pan over high heat, bring 1 quart water to a boil.
2. Peel and rinse potatoes; cut into 1-inch chunks. Add potatoes to boiling water; cover and return to a boil, then reduce heat to medium and simmer until potatoes mash easily, 10 to 12 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, in a 1- to 1 1/2-quart pan over medium heat, warm 1 cup milk and garlic until steaming, about 5 minutes. (Or in a 2-cup microwave-safe container, heat milk and garlic in a microwave oven on full power (100%) until steaming, 1 to 2 minutes.)
4. Drain potatoes and return to pan. Add the hot milk mixture, oil, cheese, basil, and paprika. This dish is great for a quick, healthy meal. Cooks fast, and tastes great!
1.You’re going to want to buy some instant microwaveable potatoes, a can of corn, a can of green beans, some cheese and a package of chicken tenders.
2.Drain corn and green beans.
3.Microwave potatoes halfway.
4.Add in the corn, green beans and sliced up chicken tenders to the potatoes. Resume microwaving. (Microwave time is dependent on potato brand, so READ THE DIRECTIONS)
5.Upon the ding of the microwave, take the bowl out, sprinkle some cheese on, let it cool and enjoy your Potato Bowl!

Place the potatoes and butter in the Argilla Medium Gourmet Roaster Bowl. Add a little butter and sprinkle with the soup powder; microwave for 5 minutes. Add boerewors to potatoes. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Melt cheese in the microwave for 2 minutes. Serve.
Hint:
If you want to serve it as a breakfast, make holes in the food around the side and add eggs. Prick the yolk of the eggs with a toothpick. Microwave until the eggsare done.
MASHED POTATOES:

When a craving hits for a home cooked meal, there is no need to rush home to get your fix of mashed potatoes. With a few basic ingredients, you can create your own dorm-made version of everyone’s favorite side.
Ingredients:
•3 medium potatoes, washed and pealed
•¼-½ c. milk
•2 tbls. butter, room temperature
•Salt/pepper, to taste
Directions:
Rinse, peal, and cut the potatoes. Place the cut potatoes in a glass or microwave-safe bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave the potatoes for 7-10 minutes or until tender, stirring about halfway through. When potatoes are tender, let stand for 5 minutes. Add the milk, butter, and salt and pepper to the potatoes. Mash until smooth, or until desired consistency.

BAKED POTATO":
1 (or more!) medium to large potato
1 microwave
1. Wash your potato(es) reallllly well. Don’t dry them! You need the moisture on the skin.
2. Now stab stab stab your potato with a knife or fork.
3. Wrap your potato(es) in a paper towel and place on a microwave safe plate.
4. Set in the microwave for 6-8 minutes depending on the size of potato. Also, if you don’t have a rotating tray in your microwave like me, turn the plate 180 degrees halfway through the cooktime to ensure more even cooking.
5. After microwaving, remove the plate and cover with aluminum immediately. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes.
6. Uncover and enjoy! This is Neil’s potato. He likes his with corn and grated cheddar cheese.
This is my potato. I like cheese a whole lot. There’s also sour cream and butter underneath that. Oh boy!
EASY MICROWAVED POTATO CHIPS:
This is a very easy recipe; however it is not suitable for more servings. Because it will consume time as we have to repeat the procedure in few batches.
Ingredients (1 serving)
1 medium size potato
Pinch of chili powder
Pinch of salt
A drop of oil (optional)
Method
Wash & peel the skin of potato.
Slice into thin slices.
Mix chili & salt with potato slices.
If you use oil, mix it with the potato slices.(optional)
Place them in a microwavable dish.
Microwave in ‘high’ for 2 minutes.
Then turn the slices to other side.
Microwave for another 1 minute in ‘high’. (if chips are not done, change the timing accordingly, however this is the cooking time for me)
Repeat the same procedure if any potato slices are available.
Chips are ready to serve.
Note: Apply a drop of oil on the plate.It will avoid sticking some tiny chips on to plate.
UNCLE BILL’S POTATO CHIPS:
Ingredients:
•4 large potatoes (russet, yellow gold, white or red potatoes)
•your choice spices (granulated garlic powder, seasoning salt, cayenne pepper, dried dill weed, granulated garlic powder)
•vegetable oil, for microwave bacon tray
Directions:
If potatoes are old, peel and slice thin, less than 1/16" in thickness (paper thin), slicing across the potato.
If the potatoes are new or good skins, DO NOT PEEL, just scrub well, then slice them less than 1/16" in thickness (paper thin), slicing across the potato.
Place potato slices in a bowl, sprinkle with some salt (if desired) cover with cold water and let sit for 10 minutes.
Remove potato slices in batches onto paper toweling and pat dry.
If you have a microwave bacon tray, rub the tray with a vegetable oil, then place the sliced potatoes flat on the tray in a single layer.
Sprinkle with your choice of herbs or spices or just leave them plain.
Cover with a microwaveable, round heavy plastic cover.
Microwave on HIGH (full power) for 5 to 5 1/2 minutes or until they curl slightly and are a very light brown in color.
Cooking time could vary slightly, depending on the wattage of your microwave and the thickness of the slices. The thinner the slices, the quicker they cook and the tastier they are.
You do not have to turn the sliced potatoes over.
If you do not have a bacon tray, use a microwave safe casserole dish.
Rub the inside of the dish with some olive oil for the first batch of potato chips.
I do not know why, but I find that if you do not rub oil the first time, some chips will tend to stick to the dish.
After the first batch is done, you do not have to rub the dish again.
Continue to microwave the remainder of sliced potatoes as noted above.
If using a bacon tray, after the first batch is cooked, you can reduce the microwaving time to 4 1/2 minutes and even less as you continue to microwave each batch.
NOTE: You can also use PARCHMENT PAPER to microwave the potato slices. Lightly spray or rub the parchment paper with some vegetable oil or a Pam spray. Place your potato slices on the parchment paper, then sprinkle them with whatever you like and then place another piece of parchment paper on top. This will help microwave the potatoes more evenly and they should turn out nice and crisp. Microwaving time should be between 5 and 6 minutes.
SOME IDEAS:
Granulated garlic powder with parsley.
Cracked black pepper, grated parmesan and sea salt sprinkled after removing from microwave.
Another, after removing chips from microwave, sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese, zap for a few seconds to melt the cheese, then add a dab of sour cream.

FINGER LICKING SPUD:
Ingredients:
• 1 sweet potato
• Cheddar cheese
• Chives
• Sliced bell pepper
• Bacon
• Tomatoes
Directions:
1. Take a knife to make incisions all around the potato.
2. Wrap the potato in paper towels and microwave until the spud is soft (about 3-4 minutes). Time will vary depending on the size of the potato.
3. Slice the potato down the middle, add toppings and serve.

4 medium red, white or Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cut into pieces just shy of 1-inch (about 4 cups)
Salt, to taste
Instructions
Place the potatoes in a 1 ½ or 2 quart glass casserole with a lid. Sprinkle with salt.
Cover and microwave on high for 6 to 8 minutes. (This time varies a minute or two according to the power of your oven.)
Let sit 5 minutes. Drain any water from the dish, uncover and let the potatoes cool and air dry.
Toss with your potato salad recipe ingredients.
Chill the salad before serving.
Potato Salad Variations
Creamy Potato Salad Variations Pure White—Simple yes, but not at all plain. Good choice to pair with grilled meats and seafood. Toss with mayonnaise, sliced celery, chopped fresh parsley, finely chopped red or green onions, salt and pepper.
Yellow Mustard—This one is classic for a casual hamburger and hot dog picnic. Toss with mayonnaise, a generous spoonful of yellow mustard, chopped hard cooked egg, dill or sweet pickle relish, salt and pepper.
French Dijon—Choose this when serving a mixed grill of sausages and shrimp. Toss with mayonnaise, a generous spoonful of Dijon mustard, sliced celery, chopped fresh parsley and tarragon, salt and pepper.
EASY POTATO CHIPS: [FOOD CORNER]
This is a very easy recipe; however it is not suitable for more servings. Because it will consume time as we have to repeat the procedure in few batches.
Ingredients (1 serving)
1 medium size potato
Pinch of chili powder
Pinch of salt
A drop of oil (optional)
Method
Wash & peel the skin of potato.
Slice into thin slices.
Mix chili & salt with potato slices.
If you use oil, mix it with the potato slices.(optional)
Place them in a microwavable dish.
Microwave in ‘high’ for 2 minutes.
Then turn the slices to other side.
Microwave for another 1 minute in ‘high’. (if chips are not done, change the timing accordingly, however this is the cooking time for me)
Repeat the same procedure if any potato slices are available.
Chips are ready to serve.
Note:
Apply a drop of oil on the plate.It will avoid sticking some tiny chips on to plate.

INGREDIENTS
4 Large potatoes, scrubbed
4 Knobs of butter
1 Capsicum, finely diced
1½ cups Grated cheese
METHOD
Prick the potatoes all over with a fork. Wrap in kitchen paper towels. Microwave on HIGH for about 10 minutes until soft when squeezed. Slit the top of each potato into a cross. Scoop out some of the flesh into a bowl. Using a fork, mash with the butter. Mix the capsicum and cheese with the potato mixture.
Pile back into shells. Place in a bowl. Microwave for about 1½ minutes until the cheese melts.
POTATOES AND SAUSAGE DISH: (Breakfast or Light Meal): [ARGILLA]

6 repe spekvleis, fyngesny (of stukkies)
50 ml ui, gekap
50 ml groensoetrissie, gekap (ek los dit uit)
25 ml koekmeel
5 ml ligte bruinsuiker
250 ml water
75 ml appelasyn.
1. Braai spekvleis bros, en hou warm.
2. Voeg uie en groenrissie by die spekvleisvet in die pan en soteer die mengsel vir 5 min.
3. Roer die meel en suiker by, gevolg deur die water en asyn.
4. Laat die mengsel toe om te kook en te verdik, terwyl dit aanhoudend geroer word.
5. Meng dit liggies met die warm aartappels en spekvleis en sit dit dadelik voor.
Mikrogolf SPEK:
1. Baai spek vir 1 min 30 sek. op HOOG en verwyder uit die bak. Voeg botter by die ui en groensoetrissie. Mikrogolf vir 2 min. op HOOG.
2. Volg stap 3 van gewone gaarmaak.
3. Mikrogolf vir 40 sekondes op HOOG. Roer en mikrogolf vir 40 sekondes op HOOG totdat die mengsel verdik.

VOLLE KRAG
1. Was die aartappels, en steek met 'n mes een of twee keer al die pad deur.
2. Pak in die mikrogolf op 'n papierhanddoek.
3. Probeer ongeveer 4 te kook op 'n slag.
4. 4 klein aartappels = 7 minute, 4 groot aartappels = 10-11 minute (mikrogolf oond tye verskil)
5. As net een aartappel gekook word in die mikrogolf, wanneer 'n 1200 watt mikrogolf gebruik word, stel die timer op 3:00 vir' n baie klein aartappel, stel dit aan 4:30 vir 'n medium-grootte aartappel, en stel dit tot 6: 00 vir 'n groot aartappel. Groot aartappels sal 7 / 8 minute neem om gaar te word.
Laat die aartappel staan vir vyf minute. Dit sal toelaat dat die binnekant van die aartappel kook met warm stoom wat vasgevang is binne.

Serves: 4 people
Six slices bacon
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 onion, chopped
8 oz Processed cheese, diced
One (8 oz.) carton commercial sour cream
One tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Six baking potatoes, peeled and cubed (about four lbs.)
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
8 oz Cheddar cheese, shredded
Two tsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 carton milk
Place bacon on a rack in a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish; cover with paper towels.
Microwave on high for five to seven minutes or until bacon is crisp.
Drain bacon, reserving one-tablespoon drippings; set bacon aside.
Combine potatoes, water, and salt in large microwave-safe mixing bowl.
Cover with heavy-duty plastic wrap.
Microwave on high for 16 to 18 minutes or until tender; stirring every four minutes.
Remove from microwave and drain.
Sprinkle with seasoned salt and keep warm.
Place reserved bacon drippings in a one-quart glass measuring cup; microwave on high for one minute or until hot.
Stir in onion; cook on high for one to two minutes or until onion is transparent.
Stir in cheese and flour; cook on high for three to four minutes or until cheese melts, stirring after two minutes.
Add sour cream, milk, and Worcestershire sauce; stir with a whisk until smooth.

8 medium potatoes / 4 large potatoes
beef stock powder
1 packet French onion soup powder
Wash potatoes, do not peel and cut it into halves or quarters.
Empty soup into a plastic bag, add potatoes and shake plastic bag to cote the potatoes with soup powder.
Put the Potatoes into a medium bowl.
Sprinkle the corned beef on both sides with beef stock powder and arrange onto potatoes.
Cover and microwave for 25 minutes on Medium High (70% Power).
Serve with mixed veggies.

Prik aartappels en maak in oond gaar op volle krag vir 10 – 12 minute.
Sny aartappels in lengte deur en skep gaar aartappel uit elke helfte.
Meng dit met melk, margarien, sout, peper en helfte van kaas.
Skep mengsel terug in skil en sprinkel met braaivleisspeserye en orige kaas.
Plaas terug in oond en deurwarm op 50 % krag vir 8 – 10 minute.
Jy kan ‘n blikkie gekerfte sampioene en bloukaas met gekapste sprietuie ook
probeer.
Jy kan ook gebraaide gekrummelde streepspek in mengsel vou.
Gebruik jou verbeelding met enige tipe vulsel.

TUNA, LIME AND CORIANDER JACKET POTATO: [12]

Jazz up your jacket potato with this tuna, lime and coriander recipe. Not only does it include tips on getting a really crispy and delicious skin but the tangy tuna and lime combination is irresistable.
Serves: 4
■Prep time: 5 mins
■Cooking time: 25 mins
(with microwave)
If cooking an ovenful of potatoes, increase the temperature to 220°C/425°F/gas 7. Use metal skewers or baking prongs pushed through the potatoes to reduce the cooking time by up to a quarter. The oil + salt make the skin extra crispy.
■4 medium size potatoes (175g-225g/6-8oz each)
■2 x tins tuna in springwater
■1 lime
■1 handful fresh coriander, leaves picked, stalks chopped
■1 red pepper
1.Scrub the potatoes, then dry and prick each one several times with a sharp knife.
Microwave Method:
Cook one potato (225g/8oz) for 6 mins on full power (800W), turn half way through cooking.
Allow to stand for 1 - 2 mins before serving.
If cooking more than one potato at a time you need to increase the cooking time accordingly.
Oven Method:
1.Rub a few drops of olive oil into the potato skin, place the potatoes in a pre-heated oven at 200°C/400°F/gas 6 on a baking tray with salt sprinkled around the potato. Bake for 1¼ hours or until soft.
2.When potato is ready, open the tins of tuna, in a bowl mix with lime juice and fresh coriander. Serve the mix on top of the jacket. Season with freshly ground black pepper.

Sloppy Joe topping dresses up an ordinary baked potato – great anytime.
4 large baking potatoes, rinsed and scrubbed
1 pound lean ground turkey or beef
1/2 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 can (15.5 oz.) sloppy joe sauce
1 cup (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
Additional toppings such as sour cream, sliced green onions, and chopped tomatoes. (optional)
1.Prick each potato several times using fork.
2.Place on turntable in spoke-like fashion.
3.Select Baked Potato from menu panel.
4.When oven signals, turn over potatoes.
5.Press Start.
6.Remove from oven; set aside.
7.Crumble turkey into 2-quart microwave-safe casserole.
8.Add bell pepper, salt and pepper.
9.Cover casserole.
10.Microwave on HIGH, 5-7 minutes stirring once halfway through cooking, until turkey is no longer pink.
11.Drain.
12.Stir in sloppy joe sauce.
13.Microwave on HIGH, 3 minutes or until mixture is heated through.
14.Cut an “X” in top of each potato, and gently squeeze together ends to open.

Make your own crisps using your microwave! A tasty and easy alternative to bought crisps (not to mention alot cheaper). A mandoline or food processor makes slicing the potato into paper thin slices alot easier.
Ready in 20 mins
Serves: 4
■1 tablespoon vegetable oil
■1 washed potato, sliced paper thin (peeling is optional)
■1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
Pour the vegetable oil into a plastic sandwich or freezer bag.
Add the potato slices, and toss to coat.
Coat a large dinner plate lightly with oil.
Arrange potato slices in a single layer on the dish.
Cook in the microwave for 3 to 5 minutes, or until lightly browned (if not browned, they will not become crisp).
Times will vary depending on the power of your microwave.
Remove chips from plate, and toss with salt (or other seasonings).
Let cool.
Repeat process with the remaining potato slices.
You will not need to keep oiling the plate.

1 cup. milk
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. prepared mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 med. potatoes, peeled & thinly sliced
1 1/2 cup. cooked ham, diced
1 tsp. onion, minced
1/4 cup. Cheddar cheese, shredded
Pour milk into 2 cup glass bowl.
Cook 2 minutes and set aside.
Put butter in cup and melt.
Cook 1 minute with milk.
Stir in flour and mustard and stir briskly.
Add salt and pepper.
Place potatoes in 1 1/2 quart microproof casserole.
Add ham and onion.
Pour sauce over potatoes.
Cover with waxed paper.
Cook 20-22 minutes.
Stir twice during cooking.
Sprinkle cheese on top.
Cover and let set 10 minutes.
MICROWAVE POTATO WEDGES: [19]

4 med. unpeeled, scrubbed all purpose potatoes, each cut into 10-12 wedges
1 tsp. vegetable oil
1/4 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese
Place potatoes in shallow 1 1/2 quart microwave safe baking or serving dish.
Sprinkle with oil and remaining ingredients except cheese.
Stir to coat potatoes.
Cover with waxed paper and microwave on high 8-10 minutes, stirring twice.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and microwave on high 1-2 minutes longer.
Let stand covered 5 minutes.
Potatoes will be tender and cheese melted.

3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
4 med. potatoes, peeled
3 cup. milk
1/2 cup. diced onion
In glass casserole, combine all ingredients except potatoes.
Cover, cook on roast (7) for 10-12 minutes or until thickened; stir twice during cooing.
Cut potatoes in half lengthwise, then into 1/4 inch slices.
Add to thickened sauce.
Cover, cook on high for 17-20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
Stir once during cooking.

Neem 'n groot genoeg bak vir hoeveelheid aartappelblokkies.
Sit botter in bak en smelt vir paar sekondes.
Roer die soppoeier daarin.
Voeg die aartappelblokkies by en geur met peper.
Roer goed totdat alles gemeng is.
Plaas deksel op en mikrogolf op hoog vir ongeveer 15 - 20 minute/ of tot aartappels gaar is.
Roer weer goed en laat staan vir 5 minute.

½ kop gerasperde kaas
Skil die aartappels en ui en sny dit ‘n klein blokkies.
Plaas dit in diep bak met water, bedek en mikrogolf op hoog vir 10 minute tot sag.
Roer na die eerste 4 minute.
Maak die aartappel en ui-mengsel goed fyn.
Klits die melk, eier, sout en peper saam.
Roer dit by die aartappelmengsel.
Voeg die bakpoeier by en klop tot gemeng.
Mikrogolf die bottervir 30 sekondes oop op hoog tot gesmelt.
Voeg dit by die graanvlokkiekrummels en kaas en meng goed.
Maak 12 aartappelpoffers.

4 medium potatoes
1 pound raw meatloaf or bulk sausage
Cut a thin slice off the bottom of each potato so they will not roll while cooking. Cut potatoes in half lengthwise.
With a spoon, scoop out the center of each bottom half, leaving about 1/2 inch of flesh.
Fill each potato bottom with one-quarter of the meatloaf or sausage mixture. Place tops back on potatoes, pressing firmly.

2 medium portobello mushrooms
2 medium zucchini
3 Roma tomatoes
1 quarter onion

1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/2 cup Italian dressing
Cut a shallow slice from each potato to form a flat bottom for each stack. Cut each potato lengthwise into 3 slices.
Scrape brown gills from the underside of the mushrooms with a knife and discard.
Slice mushrooms, zucchini, tomatoes and onion into 1/4-inch-thick slices.

Spray an 8-inch microwave-safe baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place 1/3 of the potatoes and 1/2 of the onions on the bottom of the dish and sprinkle with 1/3 the cheese and 1/2 the herbs. 1 pound baby potatoes, washed and unpeeled
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons olive oil, divided use
1 tablespoon vermouth or white wine (optional)
2 tablespoons reduced sodium chicken broth + broth for thinning marinade
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/4 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Directions:
1) Place a single layer of potatoes in bottom of a large (12-inch) microwavable container that has a lid. Add 3 tablespoons of water to pan; cover and microwave on HIGH for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Drain.
2) While potatoes cook, place mustard, 2 tablespoons oil, vermouth, chicken broth, garlic rosemary and pepper in a large bowl. Whisk to combine. Set aside.
3) Add potatoes to sauce; toss with a wooden spoon to coat all surfaces.
4) Heat reserved 1 tablespoon oil in a large (12-inch) skillet. When oil begins to shimmer, add contents of bowl containing potatoes to pan and cook over medium-high heat until potatoes are glazed and brown. Add more chicken broth if pan becomes too dry. Garnish with chopped parsley.

• 850g potatoes, cut into 5cm pieces
• 850g orange sweet potato, cut into 5cm pieces [kry by Woolworthsfood]

• 1 bulb garlic, unpeeled, cloves separated
Place potatoes and sweet potato in a large saucepan. Cover with cold water. Cover and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium. Cook, partially covered, for 5 to 10 minutes or until just tender. Drain.
Preheat oven to 220°C. Line a large roasting pan with baking paper. Spread potatoes and sweet potato over pan. Drizzle with oil. Toss to coat. Roast, turning occasionally, for 25 minutes. Add garlic. Cook, turning occasionally, for 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender, golden and crisp. Season with salt and pepper. Serve.

Rangskik die aartappels in ’n sirkel op absorberende kombuispapier en bedek met ’n laag van dieselfde papier.

1. In a 5- to 6-quart pan over high heat, bring 1 quart water to a boil.
2. Peel and rinse potatoes; cut into 1-inch chunks. Add potatoes to boiling water; cover and return to a boil, then reduce heat to medium and simmer until potatoes mash easily, 10 to 12 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, in a 1- to 1 1/2-quart pan over medium heat, warm 1 cup milk and garlic until steaming, about 5 minutes. (Or in a 2-cup microwave-safe container, heat milk and garlic in a microwave oven on full power (100%) until steaming, 1 to 2 minutes.)
4. Drain potatoes and return to pan. Add the hot milk mixture, oil, cheese, basil, and paprika. Sny 'n kruis in elke aartappel en mikrogolf al vier saam sowat 15 minute lank op hoog (100%). Laat afkoel, sny die bokant af en skep die vleis versigtig uit. Maak die aartappelpulp fyn saam met die res van die bestanddele en geur. Vul die aartappeldoppe met die mengsel. Herverhit in die mikrogolfoond en garneer met vars kruie.
BUSY MOMS BLUE CHEESE POTATOES:
1 Pkg pre-made Mashed Potatoes (24 oz)
2 T Crumbled Blue Cheese
2 T Bacon Bits
4 Fresh Chives, chopped
Salt and Pepper to Taste
Combine all ingredients together in a microwave safe bowl; cover; microwave on high for about 5 minutes.
MASH POTATO PIZZA:

3 large potatoes, chopped
40 ml milk
30g margarine/butter
2 eggs
125 ml grated fresh parmesan

125 ml tomato paste
1 large tomato, sliced
½ small green capsicum, sliced
100g shaved ham (or any other shaved meat)
1 small onion cut in thin rings
black olives, drained and sliced
250ml shredded tasty cheese
75ml parsley, chopped
Instructions
Steam the potatoes in Small Gourmet Roaster for 8 – 10 minutes in the Microwave. Add the milk and butter/margarine and mash until smooth. Cool slightly. Add the eggs and Parmesan. Stir to combine. Grease the Gourmet Meat Plate and spread mixture into it, shaping a raised edge. Chill for 30 minutes or until firm. Spread the base with Tomato paste. Top with tomato, capsicum, ham, onion and olives. Sprinkle with tasty cheese. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with parsley. Serve.

Smelt die margarien en roer die uiesoppoeier en pietersielie by.
Giet die sopmengsel oor die aartappels en bedek.
Bedek en mikrogolf 14 - 16 minute by 100 % krag.
Laat 5 minute staan voordat die deksel afgehaal word.

This dish is great for a quick, healthy meal. Cooks fast, and tastes great!
1.You’re going to want to buy some instant microwaveable potatoes, a can of corn, a can of green beans, some cheese and a package of chicken tenders.
2.Drain corn and green beans.
3.Microwave potatoes halfway.
4.Add in the corn, green beans and sliced up chicken tenders to the potatoes. Resume microwaving. (Microwave time is dependent on potato brand, so READ THE DIRECTIONS)
5.Upon the ding of the microwave, take the bowl out, sprinkle some cheese on, let it cool and enjoy your Potato Bowl!

2 large potatoes, cubed
15 ml butter
1 pkt oxtail/brown onion soup powder
500 g boerewors, cut into 3 cm bite size pieces
Aromat/spices of your choice
Cheddar cheese, grated
Place the potatoes and butter in the Argilla Medium Gourmet Roaster Bowl. Add a little butter and sprinkle with the soup powder; microwave for 5 minutes. Add boerewors to potatoes. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Melt cheese in the microwave for 2 minutes. Serve.
Hint:
If you want to serve it as a breakfast, make holes in the food around the side and add eggs. Prick the yolk of the eggs with a toothpick. Microwave until the eggsare done.

Rinse, peal, and cut the potatoes. Place the cut potatoes in a glass or microwave-safe bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave the potatoes for 7-10 minutes or until tender, stirring about halfway through. When potatoes are tender, let stand for 5 minutes. Add the milk, butter, and salt and pepper to the potatoes. Mash until smooth, or until desired consistency.

125 ml grated fresh parmesan

1 large tomato, sliced
½ small green capsicum, sliced
100g shaved ham (or any other shaved meat)
1 small onion cut in thin rings
black olives, drained and sliced
250ml shredded tasty cheese
75ml parsley, chopped
Instructions
Steam the potatoes in Small Gourmet Roaster for 8 – 10 minutes in the Microwave. Add the milk and butter/margarine and mash until smooth. Cool slightly. Add the eggs and Parmesan. Stir to com-bine. Grease the Gourmet Meat Plate and spread mixture into it, shaping a raised edge. Chill for 30 minutes or until firm. Spread the base with Tomato paste. Top with tomato, capsicum, ham, onion and olives. Sprinkle with tasty cheese. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with parsley. Serve.

Bedek en mikrogolf dit vir 8 – 10 min of tot die frikkadelle gaar is Indien jy nie frikkadelle in die sous wil gaar maak nie, plaas slegs die maalvleisballetjies in die Medium Classic Roaster en mikrogolf dit vir 10 minute op 70% krag.

BAKED POTATO":
1 (or more!) medium to large potato
1 microwave
1. Wash your potato(es) reallllly well. Don’t dry them! You need the moisture on the skin.
2. Now stab stab stab your potato with a knife or fork.
3. Wrap your potato(es) in a paper towel and place on a microwave safe plate.
4. Set in the microwave for 6-8 minutes depending on the size of potato. Also, if you don’t have a rotating tray in your microwave like me, turn the plate 180 degrees halfway through the cooktime to ensure more even cooking.
5. After microwaving, remove the plate and cover with aluminum immediately. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes.
6. Uncover and enjoy! This is Neil’s potato. He likes his with corn and grated cheddar cheese.
This is my potato. I like cheese a whole lot. There’s also sour cream and butter underneath that. Oh boy!

This is a very easy recipe; however it is not suitable for more servings. Because it will consume time as we have to repeat the procedure in few batches.
Ingredients (1 serving)
1 medium size potato
Pinch of chili powder
Pinch of salt
A drop of oil (optional)
Method
Wash & peel the skin of potato.
Slice into thin slices.
Mix chili & salt with potato slices.
If you use oil, mix it with the potato slices.(optional)
Place them in a microwavable dish.
Microwave in ‘high’ for 2 minutes.
Then turn the slices to other side.
Microwave for another 1 minute in ‘high’. (if chips are not done, change the timing accordingly, however this is the cooking time for me)
Repeat the same procedure if any potato slices are available.
Chips are ready to serve.
Note: Apply a drop of oil on the plate.It will avoid sticking some tiny chips on to plate.
UNCLE BILL’S POTATO CHIPS:
Ingredients:
•4 large potatoes (russet, yellow gold, white or red potatoes)
•your choice spices (granulated garlic powder, seasoning salt, cayenne pepper, dried dill weed, granulated garlic powder)
•vegetable oil, for microwave bacon tray
Directions:
If potatoes are old, peel and slice thin, less than 1/16" in thickness (paper thin), slicing across the potato.
If the potatoes are new or good skins, DO NOT PEEL, just scrub well, then slice them less than 1/16" in thickness (paper thin), slicing across the potato.
Place potato slices in a bowl, sprinkle with some salt (if desired) cover with cold water and let sit for 10 minutes.
Remove potato slices in batches onto paper toweling and pat dry.
If you have a microwave bacon tray, rub the tray with a vegetable oil, then place the sliced potatoes flat on the tray in a single layer.
Sprinkle with your choice of herbs or spices or just leave them plain.
Cover with a microwaveable, round heavy plastic cover.
Microwave on HIGH (full power) for 5 to 5 1/2 minutes or until they curl slightly and are a very light brown in color.
Cooking time could vary slightly, depending on the wattage of your microwave and the thickness of the slices. The thinner the slices, the quicker they cook and the tastier they are.
You do not have to turn the sliced potatoes over.
If you do not have a bacon tray, use a microwave safe casserole dish.
Rub the inside of the dish with some olive oil for the first batch of potato chips.
I do not know why, but I find that if you do not rub oil the first time, some chips will tend to stick to the dish.
After the first batch is done, you do not have to rub the dish again.
Continue to microwave the remainder of sliced potatoes as noted above.
If using a bacon tray, after the first batch is cooked, you can reduce the microwaving time to 4 1/2 minutes and even less as you continue to microwave each batch.
NOTE: You can also use PARCHMENT PAPER to microwave the potato slices. Lightly spray or rub the parchment paper with some vegetable oil or a Pam spray. Place your potato slices on the parchment paper, then sprinkle them with whatever you like and then place another piece of parchment paper on top. This will help microwave the potatoes more evenly and they should turn out nice and crisp. Microwaving time should be between 5 and 6 minutes.
SOME IDEAS:
Granulated garlic powder with parsley.
Cracked black pepper, grated parmesan and sea salt sprinkled after removing from microwave.
Another, after removing chips from microwave, sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese, zap for a few seconds to melt the cheese, then add a dab of sour cream.

FINGER LICKING SPUD:
Ingredients:
• 1 sweet potato
• Cheddar cheese
• Chives
• Sliced bell pepper
• Bacon
• Tomatoes
Directions:
1. Take a knife to make incisions all around the potato.
2. Wrap the potato in paper towels and microwave until the spud is soft (about 3-4 minutes). Time will vary depending on the size of the potato.
3. Slice the potato down the middle, add toppings and serve.
POTATOES FOR POTATO SALAD: [By Cheater Chef]

Ingredients
4 medium red, white or Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cut into pieces just shy of 1-inch (about 4 cups)
Salt, to taste
Instructions
Place the potatoes in a 1 ½ or 2 quart glass casserole with a lid. Sprinkle with salt.
Cover and microwave on high for 6 to 8 minutes. (This time varies a minute or two according to the power of your oven.)
Let sit 5 minutes. Drain any water from the dish, uncover and let the potatoes cool and air dry.
Toss with your potato salad recipe ingredients.
Chill the salad before serving.
Potato Salad Variations
Creamy Potato Salad Variations Pure White—Simple yes, but not at all plain. Good choice to pair with grilled meats and seafood. Toss with mayonnaise, sliced celery, chopped fresh parsley, finely chopped red or green onions, salt and pepper.
Yellow Mustard—This one is classic for a casual hamburger and hot dog picnic. Toss with mayonnaise, a generous spoonful of yellow mustard, chopped hard cooked egg, dill or sweet pickle relish, salt and pepper.
French Dijon—Choose this when serving a mixed grill of sausages and shrimp. Toss with mayonnaise, a generous spoonful of Dijon mustard, sliced celery, chopped fresh parsley and tarragon, salt and pepper.

INGREDIENTS
4 Large potatoes, scrubbed
4 Knobs of butter
1 Capsicum, finely diced
1½ cups Grated cheese
METHOD
Prick the potatoes all over with a fork. Wrap in kitchen paper towels. Microwave on HIGH for about 10 minutes until soft when squeezed. Slit the top of each potato into a cross. Scoop out some of the flesh into a bowl. Using a fork, mash with the butter. Mix the capsicum and cheese with the potato mixture.
Pile back into shells. Place in a bowl. Microwave for about 1½ minutes until the cheese melts.
POTATOES AND SAUSAGE DISH: (Breakfast or Light Meal): [ARGILLA]
2 large potatoes, cubed
15 ml butter
1 pkt oxtail/brown onion soup powder
500 g boerewors, cut into 3 cm bite size pieces
Aromat/spices of your choice
Cheddar cheese, grated
WHAT TO DO:
Place the potatoes and butter in the Argilla Medium
Gourmet Roaster Bowl. Add a little butter and sprinkle with
the soup powder; microwave for 5 minutes. Add boerewors
to potatoes. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Melt cheese in the
microwave for 2 minutes. Serve.
Hint: If you want to serve it as a breakfast, make holes in the food around the side and add eggs. Prick the yolk of the eggs with a toothpick. Microwave until the eggs are done.

1(10 3/4 oz.) can cream of celery soup
1 (8 oz.) pkg chive and onion cream cheese
2 Cups frozen cubed potatoes ~
1/2 Cup cheddar cheese, shredded
WHAT TO DO:
In a microwave safe casserole dish stir together soup and cream cheese. Microwave for 2 minutes or until cream cheese is melted into the soup. Fold in potatoes and combine until well covered. Bake for 10 minutes in the microwave or until potatoes are tender. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and cook another 2 minutes until cheese is melted.
